Before every single session I shoot, I get nervous. You would think that at this point those nerves would go away…but they are still there. LOL….and it’s a weird mix of feelings that I get, nervous, excitement, fear…and then the usually thoughts run through my mind, “What if we don’t mesh well during the session?”, “OMG, I am so pumped for this session!! I can’t believe it is finally here!!”, “Seriously, what if they hate me? What if my camera stops working?” LOL…seriously, before every single session I feel that way….and then I get out there, and all of those thoughts are all of a sudden nonexistent.
I have been so excited about shooting part 1 of Olivia’s senior session since LAST Christmas when her Mama talked to me about it. When the day finally came it was like Christmas morning! LOL!! I was even more excited when I got out the car and saw that Tracie, Olivia’s mama, had a CART of props for the session! She really stepped out of her comfort zone, and made the cutest props for her daughter’s senior session…that in itself was the best part!
I first met Olivia about 4 years ago when she was a teacher’s assistant at our dance studio. Olivia ended up helping my daughter’s class for the Christmas recital that year, “Suzy Snowflake” was the song they danced to. My daughter was only 5 at the time, and fell in LOVE with “Miss Olivia”. As I was editing Olivia’s photos, my daughter was over my shoulder the entire time…”Those are so pretty!”, “Oh wow, look at Olivia’s earrings!” “Mom, I LOVE that one!” Seriously, I love when my job comes full circle like this. I love that my daughter has emotional to connections to some of my seniors, and I love that she looks up to these girls.
BUT, the best part? When I got an email back from Tracie after I sent off Olivia’s gallery, and she told me that she cried, and just loves these pictures so much. THAT makes me heart smile, I just love being able to give my clients pictures that they will cherish for years to come.
Enjoy some of my favorites from part 1 of Olivia’s session!! Part 2 is taking place in late October!
Cheers to the Class of 2016!
